Answers To Common Questions
Why should I worry about COVID testing?
Reasons for COVID-19 Testing
Symptoms of COVID-19: Anyone experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, etc.) should get tested regardless of vaccination status.
Exposure to someone with COVID-19: If you've been in close contact with someone who tested positive, get tested even if you don't have symptoms. Testing helps limit the spread.
Pre-procedure testing: Some hospitals and healthcare facilities require a negative COVID-19 test before surgery or certain medical procedures.
Travel requirements: Some countries or destinations might require a negative COVID-19 test for entry.
Employer or school mandates: Some institutions might still require testing for specific job roles or to attend school or large gatherings.
High-risk individuals: People who are immunocompromised or at higher risk for severe COVID-19 might need to get tested more frequently, especially before being in group settings.
Do I need to worry about payment?
Absolutely not! We understand the importance of accessible healthcare. Our COVID-19 tests are provided at no cost to you. If you have Medicaid, we work directly with strategic telehealth and pharmacy partners to handle the entire billing process, ensuring you won't receive any unexpected bills. Your tests are $0 co-pay, always.
What if I don't have insurance coverage or my particular plan doesn’t cover no copay OTC COVID tests?
While we can't offer our current no-cost testing service to individuals without verified insurance and coverage, we want to ensure you have access to testing resources.
Here are some helpful options:
Free community testing sites: Many local health departments and community organizations offer free COVID-19 testing. You can find a testing location near you by searching online or contacting your local health department.
Federally qualified health centers (FQHCs): These clinics offer affordable healthcare services, including testing, to uninsured or underinsured individuals. You can find FQHCs in your area by visiting https://findahealthcenter.hrsa.gov/.
State and local resources: Your state or local government might offer additional resources for individuals seeking affordable COVID-19 testing.
We understand the timely nature of needing OTC COVID tests! You should expect to receive your OTC COVID test within approximately 2-3 business days after we have confirmed your insurance coverage and our partner pharmacy has processed your prescription. Shipping times may vary depending on your location.
If you need your order faster, please email us at [email protected], including your name and date of signup, and we will rush order your tests at no extra cost!
All OTC COVID tests have expiration dates indicated on the packaging. It's important to use the test before the expiration date to ensure accurate results.
Here's why expiration dates matter:
Test components: The chemical reagents and other components within the test kit can degrade over time, potentially leading to inaccurate results.
FDA Authorization: The FDA authorizes the use of OTC COVID tests with specific shelf-life data. Using a test beyond its expiration date might mean it no longer has the same accuracy as originally tested.
Checking for Extended Expiration Dates:
Sometimes, manufacturers obtain additional data showing their tests remain accurate beyond the initial expiration date. You can check if your test's expiration date has been extended by visiting the FDA website:List of Authorized At-Home OTC COVID-19 Diagnostic Tests: https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/coronavirus-covid-19-and-medical-devices/home-otc-covid-19-diagnostic-testsImportant
Note: Do not use an OTC COVID-19 test beyond its expiration date (even if it has been extended) as it could provide inaccurate results.
You can request OTC COVID tests as often as you need them. There are no restrictions on the frequency of requests for our no-cost testing service, provided we can verify your insurance coverage.
Coverage for OTC COVID tests is unique to individual benefit plans and states. Some states allow (8) tests per month, while others allow more or less. If you’d like to receive more tests within 30 days of your last shipment, feel free to inquire at [email protected] to ask. We will get back to you quickly and try our best to facilitate this request.
